NERFU D3 College/NSCRO Women’s league play closed on October 27 with Franklin Pierce defeating Johnson State to clinch the #2 spot in the North and earn the opportunity to play in the NSCRO Northeast Regional Championship alongside new NERFU program North #1 University of New England (UNE) and the top team from the South Conference, Wesleyan University.

Undefeated UNE dominated play in the North in their first season, accumulating an impressive point differential of +245.  Franklin Pierce’s win over Johnson State in the last match gave the edge over this year’s conference rival Castleton State.
Colby-Sawyer College hosted the NSCRO Northeast Regional Championship on 11/2 – 3. Match-ups saw NSCRO ranked #1 UNE vs. #4Wesleyan in the first semi with UNE once again dominating play and pounding Wesleyan 109 – 8.  #2 Smith College (#1 from the New England Wide Collegiate Rugby Conference) got the better of a feisty Franklin Pierce side in the other semi, 51-0.

Sunday 11/3 brought much colder temperatures to New Hampshire but the competition only served to heat things up.  Franklin Pierce took 3rd Place honors 42-10 over Wesleyan and in a battle for the Championship slot, Smith got the better of UNE 18-10 to take the big trophy and earn the bid to the National Championship 11/22 & 23 in Cherry Hill NJ.
