USA Rugby is seeking out senior clubs and/or unions to host club player combine events in November to capitalize on the increased exposure of rugby surrounding the All Blacks match.
Below is a message from Erik Greb, the Club Department Manager for USA Rugby:
In order to benefit Club Rugby during the attention paid to the USA vs. New Zealand match in Chicago, the USA Rugby Club Department is seeking out senior clubs and/or unions to host club player combine events. These combines will be advertised on usarugby.org in the lead-up to the event, on the event's day, and during the immediate aftermath of the event. One of the goals of these combines is to attract crossover athletes into the game of rugby, with a particular emphasis on landing these athletes in senior clubs around the country. Exceptional athletes may even be considered for invitation to High Performance camps and assemblies. Hosting Clubs will have leeway to do more with their events than is detailed in the hosting application, but the application does outline minimum requirements for hosting.
In exchange for promotion of their combine, Hosting Clubs are expected to follow the guidelines as detailed in the application at this link:â¨http://www.jotformpro.com/form/42896552717972
Of course, clubs are always welcome to independently promote themselves with combines, camps, etc. throughout the year. However, hosting a player combine through the application process in the link above ensures that hosting clubs receive promotion around the All Blacks match in exchange for following a defined set of guidelines. It is expected that the All Blacks match will bring an unprecedented amount of attention to usarugby.org and onto the sport itself in the United States.
