Beantown Women's Rugby kept their national championship run alive on Sunday by beating Pittsburgh as well as the North Carolina heat in the Women's Division 1 semi-finals. Beantown had defeated Chicago North Shore the day before to set up the Final Four match against Pittsburgh.
Both Pittsburgh and Beantown were new to Division 1 this year as Beantown made the decision to drop down from the Premier League in the fall and Pittsburgh had moved up from Division 2 after years of success at that level. In the end Beantown's strong forward play and speed in the back line proved too much for Pittsburgh as the score was 24-7 at half and 48-17 by game's end.
Beantown heads west on June 13th to Infinity Park in Glendale, Colorado to take on Seattle Saracens for the National Championship.

The second NERFU club still in the hunt for a national title on Sunday didn't fare as well as as Mystic River's dream run ended at the hands of New York Athletic Club (NYAC) by a score of 38-32.
