Details of the Northeast 7s Academy Women's Program Released

The Northeast 7s Academy will be holding tryouts for their inaugural Women’s Program open to any female athlete, college age or older. The tryouts will be hosted in two separate locations, One in the New York area and one in the Boston area and will consist of fitness and skills assessment and a series of live play scrimmages. If interested, please use this link to register. There will be a registration fee of $25.

Details on location, dates and times are as follows:

New York Area:
o Date: Monday June 15th,  Time: 8:00pm-10:00pm, Location: Columbia University’s Baker Field in NYC

Boston Area:
o Date: Wednesday June 17th,  Time: 8:00pm-10:00pm, Location: Brown University’s Berylson Turf Fields in Providence RI
Important note: Regular practices for the Boston Academy will be held at Pine Banks in Malden MA.


Conference Call with all Women’s Club and College Coaches
The Northeast 7s Academy will host a conference call for all Women's Coaches in the Northeast to provide additional information about the Academy and the pipeline it provides to the USA Eagles National teams. Additional Information about the Academy

The Northeast 7s Academy, with training squads in New York City and Boston, is a National Development Academy that has been sanctioned by USA Rugby as the official Academy (Men & Women) in the Northeast of America and as a designated pathway to the USA Eagles National Team selection. The Academy will provide athletes with top level coaching, physical preparation, and playing competition to accelerate their personal development as sevens players in line with current USA Eagles High Performance criteria. Specific to the Women’s program, selected players from both training squads (NYC and Boston) will have the opportunity to play in elite level tournaments both domestically and internationally such as (Vegas 7s, Quebec 7s, Tobago 7s) and in a newly formed partnership with American Rugby Pro Training Center, athletes will also have the opportunity to train as a resident athlete with Julie McCoy and her staff at a discounted rate.
