NERFU joins the international rugby community in mourning the loss of Don Morrison, after a brave battle with cancer. Don was truly a special individual who has left a lasting mark on our sport through his contributions as a top-flight referee, on both the domestic and international level. Don was a founding member of the New England Rugby Referee Society and a member of the USA Rugby Hall of Fame, as well as a lifelong educator and ambassador for our sport. His love of rugby began by chance at MIT and his dedication to learning all aspects of the game lead him to the top of the sport, most notably officiating the highly controversial 1981 test match between the Eagles and the apartheid-era South African Springboks. Please take a moment this weekend to remember Don as we all take the pitch and please share your stories and photos of Don in the comments.
